Master Bathroom Remodel – Lake Villa, IL

This was my first experience with Jay, who came highly recommended from a neighbor. From my first conversation with him, I could tell he was not your typical contractor. He was part designer too! With wonderful suggestions and a wealth of experience with various materials and suppliers, Jay actually provided valuable input and was able to guide the project instead of waiting for us to do the leg work and research and tell him what to do.

I found that once I started working with Jay, he is a great listener and his years of experience makes a world of difference in what he is able to recommend and what suppliers he knows. He worked within our budget and still was able to provide elegant pieces with AMAZING craftsmanship. The tile work is stunning and the custom vanity and cabinets are simply gorgeous! His team is professional, courteous, meticulous, and on-time. His taste is impeccable, he is innovative in his design concepts, and he uses fantastic suppliers of high-quality items.

My husband and I have somewhat different tastes, plus he is very tall and I am somewhat short. That can make for challenging design decisions when you’re talking about shower head heights, tub lengths, cabinets heights, and even toilet heights! Jay was always able to find our middle ground with different options these features, and was incredibly patient throughout. He kept us informed on the progress of the supplies and work schedule so we could plan the rest of our lives accordingly, which tells me he understands that a kitchen or bathroom remodel can be a huge disruption and people need to have notice. In addition, the guys were very conscious of keeping dust and dirt to a minimum by using protective barriers – something I truely appreciate. They stay until they finish the work, which is also a big plus for me. There are so many contractors out that there that start a project, then a week later go to someone else’s house, and leave you hanging for yet another week or two until they finally come back – Jay is NOT like that – his team finished our job before leaving for another, so we could have our bathroom back! That tells me that Jay is also a master of coordinating schedules, which is part of what makes him an excellent contractor.

I have recommended Jay to anyone I know because I was so impressed. We have used Inspired Living Spaces on several projects now – having had three houses and tried numerous contractors, I am THRILLED to have found one that I trust, and that I know will provide a top-notch product and service!
